This season was exceptional for mushrooms. I think the long dry spell followed by very good rains produced an abundance of significantly large mushrooms. So much so we were mushroomed out from risotto, to baked, to eggs and mushrooms and on it goes.

“Greenvale” is steeped in history, being an original selection of some 60,000 acres shearing in excess of 70,000 sheep. When the property was broken up in the 19th century, one of the original settlers, Josiah Austin retained the homestead portion built around 1850, it is currently approximately 100 squares in size. Incorporated under the roofline are three separate wings. Impressive formal entertaining areas overlooking magnificent garden setting.
