South Wing Kitchen Referbishment

Enclosing the East Wing

Currently each of the bedrooms in the east wing opens out to the open court yard which doesn't make it safe for small children in sleeping in those rooms at night, it also doesn't make a comfortable trip to the toilet in the middle of the night either, especially in the middle of winter.

Sowing time.

Feeding Maddison

Maddison was an orphan lamb who we recoverd and hand raised. Ben chose the name after a friend in Toronto.

The Poultry

Currently we have a few sulkies, some geese (16 or so) a couple of peking ducks, some guinea foul a turkey and a couple fo muscovy ducks.

"Look its as big as my head" Mushrooms

This season was exceptional for mushrooms. I think the long dry spell followed by very good rains produced an abundance of significantly large mushrooms. So much so we were mushroomed out from risotto, to baked, to eggs and mushrooms and on it goes.

The Escarpment

Behind the Hopkins river is an escarpment from which there are quite scenic views looking back over the Greenvale valley and towards the Grampians.

Hopkins River

The Hopkins river runs the length of he property and for the most part hugs the base of the escarpment which also runs the lenght of Greenvale. The Hopkins river runs for some 300 kilometers and empties out at Warrnambool. For more information on the Hopkins river visit http://www.glenelg-hopkins.vic.gov.au/catchmentprofile/h4.asp
